APAC Electric Charging Station; Supplies Electric Energy to Charge Plug-In Electric Vehicles

APAC electric charging stations

An electric charging station, also known as charge point, charging point, electric recharging point, electric vehicle charging station, electric vehicle supply equipment, and electronic charging station is a machine that supplies electric energy to charge plug-in electric vehicles. APAC electric charging station is used to charge plug-in electric vehicles, such as buses, trucks, cars, two-wheelers, and others. Most modern charging stations are designed to provide fast charging services. For rapid charging, electric charging stations are equipped with multiple adaptors such as AC fast charging, CHAdeMO, and Combined Charging System (CCS).
With the increasing production and sales of electric vehicles, due to the increasing demand, the demand for APAC electric charging stations is also increasing. In Japan, the fleet of plug-in electric vehicles totaled around 303,000 at the end of 2019; 8,720 light-commercial vehicles, 141,680 plug-in hybrids vehicles, and 152,320 all-electric passenger vehicles. Moreover, in August 2020, Japanese utilities Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings and Chubu Electric Power selected ABB to modernize electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The high-power, compact chargers will be installed to offer users quick and convenient charging options.
With demand for faster charging of electric vehicles increasing, the design of charging stations and infrastructure becomes ever more important. In Japan, more than 250,000 plug-in hybrid or fully electric vehicles have been sold with high power chargers. Moreover, in 2019, there were around 40,000 publicly available charging stations for electric vehicles in Germany. Furthermore, in 2017, Mexico’s government allocated US$ 25 million for 100 electric vehicle charging centers in the metropolitan areas of Mexico City and Guadalajara.

There are three types of charging stations for electric vehicles, such as Level 1 EV charging stations, Level 2 EV charging stations, and Level 3 or CHAdeMO EV charging stations (also known as DC Fast Chargers). Not all electric vehicles can be charged with the use of DC Fast Chargers
