On-demand Learning Management System; a Strategy That Provides Learning Solutions Anytime and Anywhere

On-demand learning management system

On-demand learning management system is an integration of software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that is cost-effective, include unlimited storage capacity, and provide remote location access and real-time data. The system has advanced features such as reduced maintenance cost, remote location access, as well as scalability and flexibility. Due to such benefits, the demand for on-demand learning management systems has increased in the recent past. The learning management system, or learning management software, is an application for management, documentation, analysis, and delivery of education and training programs.
On-demand learning management system is a computer program designed to organize, record, manage, document, monitor, report, and deliver training, education, or learning programs. The system is designed to manage, consolidate, document, store, retrieve, and share educational records electronically. It provides centralized support for time and cost management and provides instructors and administrators with an integrated set of tools for managing the day-to-day activities of teaching and training. However, a learning management system must have certain characteristics to ensure that it is used effectively.
These features include ease of use, customized reports, the ability to import and export data from various sources, the ability to create, maintain, and share student accounts, the ability to monitor and track the progress of students, the ability to charge course-by-course fees, and the ability to provide students with a secure online portal where they can register, create, and download e-learning applications, course material, and print outs of any required documents. The system provides many benefits for corporate training programs. However, the role of on-demand learning management system varies depending on the organization’s objectives, online training strategy, and desired outcomes.

With increasing adoption of digital learning, the demand for on-demand learning management system is also increasing. For instance, in April 2020, Blackboard, the U.S. based educational technology company, launched a new remote learning solution namely Blackboard Unite for K-12, which will provide K-12 districts with the tools and best practices needed to transform to a virtual learning model.
