Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems is aiding hospitals with accurate patient records and secure sharing of electronic information with clinicians

An electronic health record (EHR) system is the networked group of patients and health data electronically stored in a computerized format. These electronic health records can also be shared among different health care organizations across the country. The main purpose of an electronic health record system is to save money by reducing the use of paper-based systems by avoiding extra service charges on patients who see a doctor outside their organization. Electronic health records are more accurate than older systems and allow for more comprehensive patient care, but there are some systems that are easier to work with than others.
One of the key advantages of electronic health record (EHR) systems is that patient records can easily be accessed from any location. A patient does not have to go out to the next office to access medical records, but rather can simply log onto their computer at home and get their medical history. This ease of use helps reduce the time spent searching for patient-related information. Electronic health record systems also provide instant feedback on test results, vital signs, and other important clinical data. This makes it easier for doctors and other medical staff to make the correct medical decisions for patients.

There are many advantages to using electronic health record (EHR) systems. An EHR allows for a more efficient recording of patient information. Rather than having to write patient notes or transfer information manually through various departments, all information is recorded in an electronic format that is easily searched. Doctors no longer have to worry about duplicating medical records or having to transfer information across offices as patient records are easily found in any location. EHR also eliminates paper-based records, eliminating the waste of paper and ink, and saves on labor costs, as well. In November 2019, the Government of Germany introduced Digital Supply Act to digitalize healthcare along with patient data for medical research with the addition of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
