Natural Killer Cells

Natural Killer (NK) Cells are lymphocytes with same family as T and B cells, coming from a standard progenitor. However, as cells of the innate system , NK cells are classified as group I Innate Lymphocytes (ILCs) and respond quickly to a good sort of pathological challenges.NK cells are  known for killing virally infected cells, and detecting and controlling early signs of cancer.

The genes for both MHC I and therefore the Natural Killer cell inhibitory receptors which recognise them vary tons between individuals. The versions of genes an individual carries are linked to their ability to fight HIV infection and their risk of some autoimmune diseases. NK cell varieties also change with age and affected from chronic viral infections like cytomegalovirus (CMV).

Natural killer (NK) cells in lymphocytes of the innate immune system, involved in the elimination of tumors and microbe-infected cells. NK cells sense their cellular targets via inhibitory receptors that recognize surface molecules expressed at steady state and via activating receptors that recognize stress-induced molecules.

NK cells can be identified by the presence of CD56 and the absence of CD3 (CD56+, CD3−).NK cells (belonging to the group of innate lymphoid cells) one of the three kinds of cells differentiated from the common lymphoid progenitor, the other two being B and T lymphocytes.NK cells are known to differentiate and mature in the bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils, and thymus, where they then enter  the circulation.
