Narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) chipset is a low power wide area (LPWA) technology developed to enable a wide range of IoT devices or services, which requires small amount of data for long time. These IoT devices are connected for cost saving, remote control, and many more. Hence, the rising IoT innovation and the increasing penetration of IoT devices are some major factors expected to increase the demand for narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) chipset. Narrowband IoT devices have the capacity to send and receive data at a fast speed.

Data can be exchanged simultaneously within one frequency and sent at different frequencies, at the same time, within another frequency. In the past, the system had to be implemented by each individual operator, but now a common system has been developed between countries investing in narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) chipset. Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) enables a large number of devices to send data where there is no standard mobile network coverage. It uses a licensed frequency spectrum where there is no interference with other devices which guarantees a more reliable data transfer.
Narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) chipset provides long range communication, allows upto 10 years battery life and helps organizations connect a wide range of assets. NB-IoT is a new fast-growing wireless technology introduced to addresses LPWA network requirements of the IoT. It's been classified as a 5G technology. NB-IoT falls under the category of LPWA network standards and protocols. It is especially suited for a high volume of low-complexity devices in challenging environments such as deep building or underground radio signal penetration.

NB-IoT connect devices in a simpler and efficient manner in an already recognized mobile network. Thus, there is an increasing demand for narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) chipsets across the globe. For example, AT&T planned to launch NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT) in the U.S. and Mexico to meet the growing needs of business customers for a wide range of IoT solutions. Moreover, Germany has grown smarter with a new IoT network created by Deutsche Telekom (DT). Narrowband IoT is a new fast growing wireless technology.
