ADME toxicology testing is used to conduct various pharmacological, chemical, and genetic tests that help in the drug discovery process, from drug design to drug trials, as well as other drug interactions. In pharmacology and pharmacokinetics, ADME stands for absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion, and describes the disposition of a pharmaceutical compound within an organism. This is because human blood pH is different from that of animals and thus the blood of humans may contain a higher concentration of one substance than that of an animal. Moreover, many factors, such as blood vessel size and capillary permeability, affect blood flow, thus blood samples are carefully analyzed before results are presented.
Pharmacokinetics is an important method of analyzing and determining the absorption of drugs in humans and other animals. This method can be used to assess the stability of a drug in the body, to monitor and prevent the absorption of various toxins, and to identify the absorption of specific drugs at a specific pharmacokinetic stage. Because pharmacokinetics is an area of great interest, and thus, several research programs are ongoing to develop pharmacokinetics-based technologies and diagnostic tools. Some examples of such technology include computerized tomography (CT), ultrasound, and ultrafast scanning.

The ADME toxicology testing is the process of digestion, distribution, ingestion, and the end of chemicals or medications inside the human body. To improve drug effectiveness, ADME toxicology testing is being adopted by all biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations at an accelerated rate to reduce their drug testing, revelation, and advancement costs. The testing is classified in three notable portions; in-vivo testing, in-vitro testing, and in-silico testing. ADME toxicology testing plays an important role in the drug development process. The testing enables biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to reduce their drug discovery time, cost, and test complications.
