Various Cloud and Software Defined Storage operated by 2nd Generation Processors are being introduced in the United States

Software Defined Storage (SDS) incorporates management and policy-based provisioning of data storage systems without the necessity of the use of physical computer hardware. The most common applications of this type of storage are storage, file sharing, backup, and virtualization of the data on a network. Computer storage has become extremely important in today's computing environment. Most computer users have multiple computers that are connected to the Internet. This makes it necessary to be able to access and share files from many different computers. Storage is the method by which data is stored on a computer. The traditional methods of storage are file-based and media-based storage. File-based storage refers to the storage of data on floppy disks, CD-ROMs, tapes and other devices. Media-based storage usually includes hard drives or other mediums such as CDs and DVDs.
As opposed to file-based storage, media-based storage allows for the provisioning of additional storage media. There are two primary types of media-based storage-storage arrays and SAN (storage area network). Storage arrays are a set of physically separate storage servers. SAN is a virtualized network of storage servers, which is designed to provide a high level of security and reliability for all of the physical servers. Both storage arrays and SAN networks provide for the provisioning of secondary storage media.
In a SAN network, a single server is assigned a unique IP address and assigned a series of network ports. The ports on the SAN network are numbered with the same port number as the servers on the array and each server will have a corresponding port number on the SAN bridge that connects the ports on the bridge back to the main network. When data is written to a SAN port, the port on the bridge is forwarded to a destination port on the storage network. If any part of the data is corrupting, the data is immediately moved back to the original source server.

Software Defined Storage (SDS) is a type of software that allows you to configure and manage the settings and storage of your virtualization and virtual dedicated servers (VDS) without having to configure and manage the physical server. Your VDS is configured as a virtual machine that is entirely contained on the software. All the configurations and options are managed through a user interface and the storage servers are completely removed. In the U.S., the most popular type of SDS is Microsoft Storage Spaces. Moreover, U.S. has witnessed launch of various cloud and storage server platforms. For instance, in November 2020, TYAN, an industry-leading server platform design manufacturer and a MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation subsidiary, will introduce its latest cloud and storage server platforms powered by 2nd Gen AMD EPYC processors, which target modern data centers and enterprise markets, at SC20 virtual event during November 17-19.
