Thermal air filtration is an air filtration technique used for the filtration of exhaust gases generated from various industrial processes. A regenerative catalytic oxidation agent is an air cleaning and disinfection method that combine oxygen removal with hydrogen peroxide oxidizing the air. A regenerative thermal air filtration process removes VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from the air. In this process, the air passes through a dilution tank that contains the oxidizing agent, then the air goes through a regenerative chamber that releases the oxidizing agent in the form of water vapor.
This combination of oxygen removal and hydrogen peroxide oxidation results in a chemical reaction that removes contaminants from the air, resulting in less contamination in the environment. Regenerative thermal air filtration technologies have been around for decades, but new developments have dramatically improved the efficiency of the system. The newest regenerative thermal oxidizers are made from solid oxide of copper with a binder.
The components of the regenerative thermal oxidizer are compact and produce minimal waste heat while allowing the regeneration process to be efficient. Other benefits of a regenerative thermal oxidizer include the ability to produce air that is cleaner and more resistant to chemical deterioration. It also makes the process of air cleaning and disinfection more effective for industrial, agricultural, and municipal facilities. A regenerative thermal oxidizer is becoming an important part of the many processes that make the environment clean and healthy.
Increasing industrial pollution is responsible for spreading various disease, such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and cardiovascular problems. Thus, the demand for thermal air filtration is increasing. In 2019, the U.S. had the seventh highest number of air pollution deaths in the world. According to Greenpeace India (non-profit organization), air pollution claimed around 160,000 deaths worldwide in 2020.
